The Safety First Safe Glow baby monitor is your basic baby monitor with an added night light feature. The sound quality is good and it has a range of up to 400 feet. This baby monitor has two portable receivers with belt clips so both parents can monitor the baby simultaneously or you can monitor the baby from two different rooms in your home.
There are three a/c adapters included, but it does not have a rechargeable battery. Each of the baby monitor receivers requires a 9 volt battery for portable use, and these are not included with your purchase.
This baby monitor has a sound level display, but the light bars may not accurately reflect the level of sound in the nursery. The receiver is very sensitive and does not diminish background noises like ticking clocks, passing cars, and "white noise" caused by humidifiers and air purifiers which may be represented as full volume by the light display. It may also pick up other baby monitors in the neighborhood, as well as neighbors' phone calls and even radio stations.
Depending on where you live, static might be a BIG problem for you with this baby monitor. You may be able to position the receivers just right to avoid static interference and then it may work well for you. Interference can be caused by many common household appliances, satellite dishes, etc.
The Safety First Safe Glow baby monitor has a popular night light feature which can be very useful, but the life of the light bulb is short, and the bulb itself is not replaceable, according to the manufacturer. The switch is so sensitive that it can get stuck between on and off and act like a strobe light. The night light has an automatic shut off after fifteen minutes which can also be handy, but there's no manual override for the auto shut-off feature which can leave you in the dark.
Although this baby monitor might work well for you, if you live in a densely populated area or have a lot of electronics in your home, you might do better to choose a different baby monitor, perhaps one with a 900 MHz signal.
